But didn't you notice the "him or her"? I mean, he was talking about a little BOY! His parents think it's so funny that they don't point out to him that it isn't necessary to say "him or her" when talking of an individual of known gender. They're a book family (don't have TV) and he gets it from books or conversation and doesn't have it quite right.

Angus is the child whom I took to an animated movie with some slightly older children with whom he likes to act grownup, and at a slightly scary moment, he said in a loud voice, "Grandma E, if I were you, I would not have come to this movie!"
