I know I am the Pollyanna of the thread...but reading these comments from the benevolent Intel makes me chuckle. Of course, we at Intel will listen to what you OEMs want. What we at Intel want is only of secondary importance. We will let the market decide which memory strategy will prevail.

Oh, by the way, did I mention that we at Intel might not be able to supply all of you OEMs the chips and support you may want in the next few months. Shortages everywhere (been reading the reports? -isn't it awful. AMD's having problems too.) Might have to ration. Anyone know a reason why we should perhaps favor you over a competitor?

Hey, what they say in public and the arms they twist in private are very different. Let's wait and see.

John, thanks much for pointing out the 'bent' of Sherry Garber. (note I'm not cheerleading nor trashing the stock)

I think it is critical to understand the leanings/angle of the 'players' as part of one's assessment of positional risk.
