I did not hear anything specific about DELL, either directly or by surrogate (that company up the road kind of thing). Instead, when they talked about distribution costs and delivery models they talked about the economics as applied to CPQ's business.

I'm not sure CPQ needs to confront DELL directly. Pfeiffer seemed obsessed with DELL. But CPQ did not become who they are by focusing on any of their competitors, they did it by great engineering and great execution. Well, there might have been the Packard-Bell suit, but there again they drove P-B out of the market with flat better products.
