twister- You're starting to be dilutive to Dale J's franchise on the 'i' word. After reading Charles' links, it looks to me that you may have things exactly backwards.

Are you currently preoccupied with something?

This just arrived from NCR:

Charles, thanks for your inquiry. Some of the press reports have
generalized the announcement down to the point that it may sound like NCR is
leaving the hardware business completely. The correct information is as
follows:

All of NCR's key solutions - such as Store Automation, Self Service (ATMs)
and Data Warehousing - include a computer hardware component, and we will
continue to sell this hardware as part of our business solutions. This is an
important point.

We are continuing to focus our business away from the commodity-oriented
solutions where there is little opportunity for NCR to add value, including
bank branch automation.

Our strategy of transforming NCR from a product-centric company to a
business solutions company remains unchanged.

I trust this helps to bring more clarity to the message.
