Go2Net Launches National Sports Marketing Campaign
Go2Net Branding in Major Stadiums Nationwide

SEATTLE, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Go2Net, Inc. (Nasdaq: GNET), a network of branded, technology- and community-driven Web sites ( go2net.com ) today announced that it has embarked on a nationwide marketing and branding campaign focused on major college and professional sports stadiums and arenas. The program kicked off during the current college football season, with Go2Net's logo and Internet address appearing prominently on video boards and other locations throughout 13 major college football stadiums.

Go2Net's branding efforts have also been extended to include home games of the Seattle Seahawks National Football League team, and will include the Portland Trail Blazers National Basketball Association team, both of which are owned by Paul G. Allen, who also owns more than 30% of Go2Net. Some of the major college football stadiums included in Go2Net's branding campaign include home fields of the University of Tennessee, Purdue University, the University of Texas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Oregon State University, among others. Go2Net's message will be delivered to a total of more than 6 million individual college football fans during the current season.

Developed in collaboration with Action Sports Media, a sports venue-marketing firm founded by Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures Inc., this program complements Go2Net's national brand awareness campaign, which began in March. Action Sports Media controls marketing communication and advertising space in selected athletic venues across the United States.

"The launch of Go2Net's sports marketing program is a targeted extension of our branding efforts and is designed to reach what we've found to be an excellent demographic for the Go2Net Network," said Mike Quigley, Go2Net vice president of marketing. "We look forward to more aggressively growing the visibility of the Go2Net Network and our individual properties in the coming 12 months."

With this campaign, Go2Net is reaching out to regions in the South and Midwest where it has recently opened area sales offices, but where it has previously not had a strong outdoor advertising presence. Go2Net's pre-existing outdoor campaigns target the metropolitan areas of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and San Francisco.
