wow, this is as hated as I've seen this stock. Futures are up big time, great earnings announcement, added to DOW, and we are down in pre-market!

JP t2 Frank and All Loyal Softees:

This is yet another buying opportunity. This daily tea leaf reading is approaching the absurd. What says that this new tack taken by Gateway will succeed. Let us look at it. Does Gateway want to become the Mattel of computers? ORCL is spinning this part of their company off. It is obviously a drag on earnings and they hope to convert it to a .com -hope company. Remember when the folks were saying that you couldn't make money with sub 500 cpus much less sub 200. These are what are called loss leaders that lead you up to the next step which is the the desk/lap top cpu with a real O/S.

The greatest expansion in the future appears to be the conversion from main frame to distributed computing as the price movement of SUNW would indicate is not only the current fact but the future sentiment. W2K is waiting in that space as is SQL Back Office etc.

What games are children going to play on a 199 web-mate? The bandwidth for meaningful games will not be there as DSL is ADSL and therefore is speedy in only one direction.

The PC is the thing that separates the person from being a digit in the new paradigm of push technology. As a dumb monitor subscriber to the net one will become less and less a free agent and lose much of the flexibilty that is derived from the combination of the PC with the web.

MSFT SAYS IT IS GOING TO DO VERY WELL. Is there something that the pundits know that MSFT doesn't know? I think not!

The DOJ case (if there ever was one)falls apart further with the notice that other devices are being built in order to end run the MSFT O/S. Therefore even if Judge Judy rules against MSFT this point will be not be lost on the appeals courts.

Take this opportunity to buy this premier company of world commerce.
