Hall-Mark Integrated Solutions Partners With AltiGen to Distribute AltiGen's Industry Acclaimed Telecom Server
Combines Industry Leading Phone System With ISO 9001 Certified Distribution And Integration
FREMONT, Calif., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- AltiGen Communications (Nasdaq: ATGN - news), the market leader in server-based PBX phone systems, today announced a new partnership with Hall-Mark Integrated Solutions (HMIS), a division of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT - news), one of the world's largest distributors of electronic components and computer products. The relationship creates the first complete telecommunications systems integration and distribution channel offering. Value Added Resellers (VARs) will now have the ability to deliver the full potential of computer and telephony integration.

With over $7 billion in annual sales, approximately 10,000 employees worldwide, and 235 locations globally, Avnet, Inc. and its Hall-Mark Integrated Solutions division have the resources to make a powerful impact within the converging voice and data market. By offering a complete AltiGen telecommunications package for small to medium enterprises, Hall-Mark's existing channel will have an opportunity to profit from the growing CTI market. And, Hall-Mark is now poised to sign a host of new reseller agreements with Telecomm-oriented VARs that previously focused on voice solutions only. This creates new opportunities for resellers previously focused on only one particular aspect of the market, data or voice.

''This is an ideal relationship for Hall-Mark Integrated Solutions,'' says Jeff Bawol, Hall-Mark Integrated Solutions' VP of Sales and Marketing. ''AltiGen's products are a perfect match, industry-leading telecom technology married to our world class systems integration and distribution. The results of this partnership will be new opportunities for all parties involved, Hall-Mark, AltiGen and the VAR community.''

The partnership delivers on the recent announcement by Compaq's Telecommunications Division to bring complete turnkey systems to market, comprised of AltiGen's award winning AltiServ® system and Compaq ProLiant(TM) servers. Through the terms of the agreement, AltiGen will supply Hall-Mark with their Quantum Telephony Boards, their Triton Voice over IP boards, and AltiServ® system software. Hall-Mark will incorporate the AltiGen products into Compaq ProLiant(TM) servers for distribution throughout the United States.

Hall-Mark's integration program is an elite program that meets the ISO 9001 requirements. Through Hall-Mark's TECenter (Technical Enhancement Center) and PICenter (Production Integration Center) every aspect of the systems integration is monitored and tracked to the standards set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), including distribution, integration, sales and support. Through the rigors of this program, VARs are assured that the solution shipped from Hall-Mark will be of the highest level of quality.

''Our relationship with Hall-Mark is an important milestone in the growth of AltiGen,'' says Michele Shannon, Vice President of Sales for AltiGen. ''Hall-Mark not only provides world class systems integration, but also a strong channel of resellers. Hall-Mark is known in the industry for their focus on bringing complete solutions to market. It is this dedication, to the AltiGen platform, that will create great opportunity for both companies.''

The AltiGen/Compaq solution will become available through Hall-Mark immediately for any Authorized AltiGen reseller. Targeted at small-to-medium size businesses and enterprise branch offices of up to 160 people, the AltiServ® system provides customers with a full featured Windows® NT® server-based PBX that is affordable, flexible and highly scalable. In addition to basic features such as PBX, corporate-strength voicemail, auto attendant and basic automatic call distribution (ACD), AltiServ® also provides more advanced functionality such as an integrated VoIP gateway, extensive ''follow me'' features, client call control, Internet integration and unified messaging with support for Microsoft Exchange.
