Poor results.... the margin gone down to 33% from 40% last year. Chicken feed margin eaten up mostly by the expenses, leaving little left for the shareholders. The warning about slow down in sales due to Y2K is yet another blow. Can probably expect another loss for 4th quarter. Then, next year, given the track record of these people, we probably can expect more unpleasant surprises. Meantime, wouldn't expect management fat cats not to take a salary raise at year end and even bonuses. After all, lots of work have been done to correct a faulty design, and to pump up the news releases.

For more insight on how management take the loot while shareholders take the loss, read the article today in the National Post by Diane Francis "It's time CEOs shared the pain."

Quote:

"If they want to make big bucks they have to take risks and should not make increases that are higher than shareholders. I'd also make them set aside a hefty portion of their salaries toward buying stock so they can share the pain as well as the gain."
