Intertrust's Stock Soars in Trading Debut

By DOW JONES

n a session at which investors seemed eager to pour money into new technology issues,
shares in the Intertrust Technologies Corporation tripled their offering price in trading
Wednesday.

Shares in the company, which is based in Santa Clara, Calif., closed at $54.375, more than
three times the offering price of $18 set late Tuesday.

Intertrust makes systems for digital-rights management, which helps prevent the
unauthorized use of files that are digitally transmitted.

There had been strong prepricing demand for the offering. Recently, price estimates on the
deal -- which was led by Credit Suisse First Boston -- were raised to a range of $15 to $17 a
share from $12 to $14.

Intertrust was one of several new technology issues to price ahead of expectations.
