iTurf Selects Phase2Media as Online Advertising Partner for Its Leading Network of Generation Y Internet Sites

Marketers Gain Access to Internet-savvy Teens Through the iTurf Network

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 1999-- iTurf Inc. (Nasdaq:TURF - news), a network provider of leading Internet sites for Generation Y, today announced the selection of Phase2Media as an online advertising partner for the iTurf Network. Under the terms of the agreement, Phase2Media will represent the iTurf Network to marketers and advertisers looking to target Generation Y. The iTurf Network features web sites such as gURL.com, OnTap.com, and dElLiAs.com. Phase2Media will work with iTurf to execute the advertising and marketing strategies for each of the properties in the iTurf Network including the flagship site, iTurf.com, scheduled for launch in January 2000.

''iTurf represents a breakthrough solution for marketers who wish to establish closer relationships with teens through a medium which caters to teens' diversity of interests and needs,'' said Stephen Kahn, President and Chief Executive Officer of iTurf. Phil Miano, iTurf's director of advertising, commented, ''Phase2Media will enhance our advertising revenue stream by attracting elite brands with innovative ways to market to this demographic.'' Branded content sponsorship is one way iTurf plans to offer its advertisers a ''sticky'' interaction with iTurf visitors.

According to United States Census Bureau figures, the members of Generation Y (10- to 24-year-olds) have $250 billion worth of disposable income. To reach this market segment, companies will spend an estimated $2.1 billion dollars on Internet advertising by the year 2000, according to Jupiter Communications.

''The iTurf Network is a great mechanism to reach Generation Y because it allows advertisers to target different parts of a highly segmented market,'' said Richy Glassberg, chairman and CEO of Phase2Media. ''We're excited to work with marketers and advertisers to provide access to the dynamic Gen Y market with creative campaigns across the iTurf Network.''
