PixTech Announces Delivery of 12.1'' Fed to U.S. Army

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 23, 1999--PixTech, Inc. (Nasdaq:PIXT - news; EASDAQ:PIXT) today announced the delivery of the first 12.1-inch Field Emission Display (FED) to the U.S. Army under the DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) contract.

This delivery comes just three months after the contract obligations were transferred from Micron Technology to PixTech.

This 12.1-inch monochrome FED is video rate capable, provides 6 bit/64 shades of gray and has 800 x 600 resolution. With this delivery, PixTech has taken another step toward the development and delivery of a 12.1-inch full color FED with 1024 x 768 resolution for evaluation and potential use in the Abrams tank and other military applications.

James J. Cathey, vice president Worldwide Sales and Marketing for PixTech, commented, ''This is a strategic delivery for Pixtech. It provides a solid base for the ultimate future deliverables under this contract, which are higher resolution and full color. It also shows the successful integration of Pixtech and Micron Technology's FED technologies.''

On May 19, 1999 PixTech acquired Micron Display, A Division of Micron Technology which previously held the development contract. This contract was novated to transfer obligations from Micron Technology.
