Re: Put/Call Ratio... Anyone have any updated data - or Brinker's recent commentary (if any) on the subject?

Thanks - in advance.

RE: < Put selling by itself means nothing in particular. Without knowing other option positions in the portfolio one does not know whether it is a bearish or bullish sign.>

Following is from a news report quoting HP:

"The company did not make a formal announcement but confirmed late in the day that it had spoken individually to different analysts, and told them that weak North American server sales could weigh on results for the fourth quarter, which ends October 31."

The key part is is INDIVIDUALLY.

Analysts called the company, got the word, then sold puts it seems....as well as just dumped the stock. BIG MISTAKE by HP. They SHOULD have issued a press release and told us all at once.

Otherwise, great comments on options and how to use PUTS to buy a stock. I like that! similar to how to use covered calls to take profits if price targets are reached!

thanks
