mr. mark, [edited] 'mem' works in Win98, too. Here's part of what it shows right now...

Type of Memory Total Used Free
Type of Memory Total Used Free
---------------- ----------- ----------- -----------
Conventional 655,360 69,888 585,472
Upper 0 0 0
Reserved 393,216 393,216 0
Extended (XMS) 32,505,856 204,800 32,301,056
---------------- ----------- ----------- -----------

Thanks for the tip! This is so easy and DIRECT,
I'll do it often. :) This pc has only 32 MB RAM.
Of course this does not agree with memturbo
and Norton.

I reposted this to make the table readable.
