would fibre/wireless be 'real estate' equivalent?
maybe oil, manufacturing/pipeline/pump stations is a good model
almost forgot about the ships, dang it
it may be that the servers can be seen as 'moving' tankers
they don't move, but the ability to change to different server locations before delivering data makes scenario similar
from a drowsy guy :)
