Despite lip service from the SEC, they do a poor job of leveling the playing field for the individual investor. Here is what their Chairman has to say about their intentions and goals: sec.gov Apparently their main focus is on financial reporting as in company quarterly reports. They are unconcerned about what is reported in the media and as far as I can tell unconcerned about what happens on Internet message boards. This is in contrast to the occasional stories we all here about average people who stumble upon true insider information and become the objects of an SEC investigation. George D.
