Now that's thoughtful and in-depth. Thanks, Mr. Felsen.

Me for two (And Dale certainly can handle himself wo my help.). Also enjoy Dales SI thread. Some good heads over there(mostly longs) who have sniffed out some quick movers at the beginning of their runs. A little quiet over there today though. Maybe too busy counting $$$$. <<gggg>>. WR to Dale's articles re. shorting, they may seem pretty basic to some of the experts here--but even the great golfers and baseball hitters go back to the basics on a regular basis.

I've taken to writing down some of my success rules to myself, because too often, when I get cocky and think I have making $$$ in the market figured out (as when I made 8 straight winning trades recently), I try something different and get my head handed to me as I did right after that.

BTW this is a great thread and I found my way here when AG got into a dialogue w/ Susan Slaine. Differences of opinion, reasons given, civil discussion--well, mostly. Take your pick on who's right. I don't short much (most of times when I have tried, I was too late, couldn't find the shares to borrow, and don't have time to chase) but I sure as hell respect shorters, and, as Dale says if there is a concerted short effort, it's probably a good time to get out of the way if you are long or thinking of going long--that sounds like good sense rather than naive.

eg. SFSK, BXM, SNDK.

Speaking of SNDK, any thoughts here? Seem to remember someone saying it was "broken." It's not sharing in the good news today, bounced back after drop to intraday low of 37, but now drifting back down on low vol. Had good rev. and earnings, but next qtr growth rate is expected to slow based on capacity constraints.

Jim

PS Disclosure. Currently long in HAS at 18 3/4 and holding the rest cash (I know--not exactly the style over here. But at least I didn't see anyone here say it's a POS. OOOPs. Prob shouldn't have said anything <<gg>> OTOH, it has such a big float that it would take a really big player to move it much. Besides, it actually looks like a decent co.
