I still hear of my Indian friends getting tattered aerogrammes from India. Sure looks like India will have to
privatize its Postal Service and hand the business to a US company like Federal Express to stop that from happening!

DIPY: In India most likely the mail is sorted by hand, while it is sorted or conveyed by machines and hands in US. The tattered look of your aerogram is either intentional or the result of chew and spit by the sorting machines or conveyer belts on this receiving end. May be the the CBI is reading your letters, patching them up clumsily so that you know that somebody read that before you did.
Your idea of Federal express, UPS etc serving India is a good idea. One good idea, I must admit.

the shoddy stuff that their country has been making.
Remember the very first japanese cars sold in America. They were junk and branded so. But now take a look. Do you drive a Japanese car? Give the Indians a little time. And they will surprise you. When the Indians are capable of making world-class comm. Satellites, they can do anything. BTW, they can put it in the orbit too. Pakistanis can drink their CHAI-TEA-LITES --Light tea.
