This one adds a Darwinian twist:

"The fate of black hole singularities and the parameters of the standard models of particle physics and cosmology", by Lee Smolin

xxx.lanl.gov

In his scenario, each black hole 'bounces', giving birth to a new universe in which the parameters of nature are altered slightly in random directions from those of the parent universe. Instead of chaos there is tuning - natural selection based on fitness for production of black holes.
