Global Crossing Gives ISPs the Advantage
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1999--Global Crossing Ltd (Nasdaq: GBLX)

-- New comprehensive wholesale data services package for Internet

Service Providers
market

-- ISP Advantage bundles local access, colocation and transport

-- Deploys team to focus exclusively on ISP
services

Global Crossing Ltd (Nasdaq: GBLX), which is building and operating the world's most advanced global IP-based fiber optic network, today introduced a complete turnkey package for Internet Service Providers designed to strengthen their ability to provide Internet access.

ISP Advantage(SM) combines local access, colocation and data transport with Global Crossing's high-capacity network and online management systems.

"Previously ISPs have had to deal with a handful of providers to deliver Internet services to end users," noted Brian Fitzpatrick, president of Carrier Services for Global Crossing North America. "ISP Advantage streamlines that process which means lower costs, speed to market, fewer points of failure, and improved service delivery and maintenance."

ISP Advantage is a simple solution that enables ISPs to offer unlimited Internet access at unparalleled speeds. It includes:

-- Local Access - Dedicated connections to local dial tone via
ISDN-PRI, which improves connection speeds and provides more
economical utilization of network facilities.

-- Colocation - Access to 40 markets initially from 13 colocation
sites. Global Crossing's unique backhaul network design allows
ISPs to reach multiple markets from a single colocation site,
giving them the opportunity to rapidly scale their geographic
presence with minimal cost.

-- Connectivity - The Global Crossing network offers high-bandwidth,
high-speed reliable capacity with the flexibility to support
Internet Protocol (IP), ATM, private line and leverages nearly
100 private and public peering arrangements. Private line
connections are available domestically up to OC-48 speeds with
plans to scale to OC-192, and internationally from E-1 to STM-1.

"Global Crossing is the only provider to package an end-to-end solution for ISPs that can rapidly scale to support their explosive growth," explained Fitzpatrick. "We've thoroughly researched the needs of the ISP customer segment and deployed a new team focused exclusively on this $10 billion marketplace. ISP Advantage can get new players into the game with a running start, or rapidly jump start existing ISPs' business plans."

In addition to front- and back-end connectivity services, ISPs can accelerate their revenue realization by utilizing uCommand(SM), Global Crossing's online network management tool for real-time service delivery and account support. Every element of the ISP Advantage package will be web-enabled through uCommand, which will directly access Global Crossing's service management and switching systems for more efficient provisioning and unsurpassed back-office support.
