I really like the word bougainvillaea. There was a survey that concluded Americans consider chimethe most euphonious word.

Not for me. Give me bougainvillaea: boo-gan-vee-lee-uh: booganveeleeuh. It's my favorite mantra. I love saying it over and over, fast, slow, sometimes with a Spanish accent (for a little extra zest.)

Ahhhhhh, bougainvillaea.

Hmmmmmm...... are you SURE you're not my twin brother(?)... or maybe we're reincarnated orcas from the same pod... pod-brethren so to speak...

...*sigh*... I love flowers... primroses... I have a bunch outside the front window of my house where I can see them when the snow melts in the spring... they often have bright little flowers on them even when they've got half an inch of ice still left over them.... just blooming there like they're flowers inside of a glass paperweight....

And I take flowers with me when I go places too... For a few years, I worked in a repair shop... doing parts. One summer I had to do the work as a favour for someone special even though I try not to work summers... there aren't enough sunny days in our lives to waste them being inside of buildings... But I did work that summer. It was horrendous. I had to do something to change the lack-of-scenery because I was inside a place with cement block walls, no windows, and heaps of old starter cores and stuff around my computer. So I cut up a couple of calendars that had forest and river scenes from around Ontario... Lake Superior shoreline stuff... Madawaska River... Bruce Trail... and I stapled the big pictures all over ever inch of visible wall space around the computer. Then I put this plastic loop on the wall beside the computer...and each morning before I went into work, I'd pick a big vase full of fresh peonies and roses and lilies out of my garden and hang the vase in the hoop so that the flowers were RIGHT THERE... right where I could touch them, smell them, see them all day... Hmmm... it made it bearable...

And when I travel, the truck just kind of "fills up" with stuff... fossils, rocks, flowers, shells, rocks, branches, bird nests,...

And the house is like that too...

Some of my friends are the same... in fact, many of them... Got real envious of one of them last year.... she had an eastern painted turtle shell on her dashboard... found it on the side of the road in summer... what a score!

Well, Pod-Brother... wonder what other notes we have to compare...?

Did you know that the new VW beetles all have a stem vase? I did not understand why until your post.

I like irises(Iris?). Japanese Iris.

My mother brought them back from Japan in the 50's and they grew on the side of our house for years. All different colors. I always loved cutting them and bringing them to school for the teacher. I wonder if the other kids ever wondered why the Simpson's always brought in irises?
