GREEN LIGHT???

I heard NOTHING in the Intel Conference to cause any worry for Rambus shorts, NO doubts were removed, nothing has changed from earlier Intel comments.

I would guess, the market makers will try to force the price up early on Friday, hoping to promote some short covering but doubt it will work. Most likely stock will pop to maybe 75-77 in the first 45 mins then sink later in the day. I will be selling early on, if that happens.

BTW The overall market is now over-bought and could see a pull back on Friday with out without Greenspans help.

jmac: >>But, you're response to me is unbelievable. you hit a nerve.<<

From all the posts I have read I cannot come to the conclusion that "they messed up." All fingers point to Intel and not Rambus. Resolve yourself to the fact that Intel is not going to come out and say, "yes, we're the ones at fault in this terrible screw up. We're the ones that dropped the ball. We're the ones that didn't check our product for bugs. We're the ones that are responsible for the vast amount of money lost by stockholders of both Rambus and Intel, etc., etc., etc." They won't do this because the general public and investors all think Rambus is at fault because of how the media reported the stop of the launch. Everyone is pointing their finger at Rambus as being the one at fault. If you only had the published post to rely on, you would think the same thing.

>>an explanation is warranted.<<

Yes, but I doubt if we will ever get it. It's easier for Intel to let everyone continue to point the finger at Rambus. When Camino and Rdram in other products roll, then all will be forgotten.

>>Now, when investors have to invest.<<

Believe me, they will continue to invest with or without any further explanation. such is the nature of the beast.

>>If you like to blindly invest..<<

That's only your opinion. I can see everything that I need to make a reasonably sound investment in Rambus.

>>you hit a nerve.<<

Sorry about that.

>>it's ok to mess up, you're not accountable, we'll fix it so leave us alone? heck of an approach.<<

They take this approach because they can!

Richard

Hi jmac; Re Intel and Rambus not letting out what the cause of the problem with Camino is...

That is an interesting thought. What did Intel do when they had the FDIV problem shoved down their throat? I think that when they finally admitted that they had a problem, they owned up to it, but I don't remember that they told everybody exactly what had gone wrong. Instead, they simply fixed it. There are a number of good reasons for doing this. Perhaps there is some intellectual property at stake. Why take the chance of a public disclosure that could get them in trouble with Rambus, or could prevent them from patenting something later on?

I think it's just a matter of "need to know." They don't think you need to know. But I wouldn't worry about that as far as evidence that something is gone wrong. When they are sure they've fixed it, they will probably announce a launch date.
