I do not understand VIX either. 10/28/99 CBOE VIX 22.45; -2.90; -11.4%. The higher the index, the more oversold. But I do not know what that tells us about NITE profits. It seems the bigger the intraday movement with many ups and downs during the day for the particular stocks NITE makes a market in would be the best scenario for NITE profits. Maybe the CBOE is the closest to getting at least some handle on it that one could get; short of getting data directly from NITE.

Trade loss days would be a great indicator. NITE management said in the Q3 conference call that their trade loss days were less in Q3 than either Q1 or Q2. One would be in la la land to get that daily data. lol
