Thanks for the news report, LHG.

Sounds like ELH is just fine and after routine work will be ready for testing. BKP1 seems to be going very well, too. It's the guys over at Cal Canal who seem to be having rough times. Latest reports seem to indicate an estimated 150 to 250 feet to the first layer of potentially good sands. After reading everything here and SH I'm not sure if that will be the 1st or 2nd Carneros. Whatever, let's hope they are porous... and highly charged.

Don't think anyone here would mind if they hit that good layer early tomorrow. Another weekend is asking too much...<ggg>

would anyone happen to know how much mass would be removed out of a 17,000 foot core? Don't know the core size or I might stand a chance. Just curious. thanks everyone.. looking forward to the great time when we flow gas.

Thank you LostHillsGuy,

that is an excellent report!!!

And I was only kidding you about your Spanish, although at that marvelous little store/take-out at the crossroad of Lost Hills and Robles highways, it doesn't hurt at all to be semi-fluent. <ggg> (Notice I didn't say "semi-coherent", which would have kept me out of the sun or out of the place in the first place.) Nice people, your Latino friends.

<<As far as the wells goes, I feel that next week is going to be gut check time. In the
face of no news the stocks seem to be drifting lower, and the speed at which things
are going, we may not get significant "news" for a few days. >>

Hate to disagree with you, but....<<CC just changed the bit and are in the process of going back in the hole. They should
be back to drilling about 9pm California time.>>

That's midnight EST. How long do you figure it will take them before they hit with that new bit? Or maybe they have already - and decided to change bits before going farther?

Just speculation, of course, from a far-off armchair. That's why we need a good local newshound like you on the ground. And you are doing a fabulous job, all my kidding aside.

Thanks and hasta ciao!

Our friend, Jaybird, has posted (on Stockhouse) an excerpt from a CIBC research report published today. The URL to access that post is given below. IMHO, it's worth the read.

<<I feel that next week is going to be gut check time.>>

Tranquilo, no te preocupes !!

When you get around to that gut check, just keep in mind the following paragraph which I have extracted from Jaybird's post:

<<Lastly, regardless of the test results at the East Lost Hills replacement well, Berkley plans to drill another three deep wells: a well at Lucky Dog, the third of six distinct prospects to be tested, using the rig from the replacement well; a second stepout well at East Lost Hills is planned to spud in mid-January using the rig from the Berkley #1 stepout well; and, upon completion of drilling at Cal Canal, the rig will either drill a second Cal Canal well or a third East Lost Hills stepout well.>>

Of course it is none of my business but I wouldn't think that you need place any higher emphasis on this test then does the JV. And, the JV is essentially saying that they are prepared to commit another $20MM U.S. to development drilling at ELH (i.e. the 2nd and 3rd stepouts) no matter what their test yields !! Does that not say something ? Are they just being cocky ? Or, stupid ?? Are they just flashing their money around ? Or, might they already know what sort of a "minimum size find" they have at ELH ? <gg>

Have a pleasant evening LHG and do keep that camera handy. You'll get a chance for some spectacular flare photos yet. BKP won't be burning off 300 MMCF without you noticing it !! And, when everyone sees your pictures posted at the celebration they'll remark, "Totally awesome, Dude !!" <gg>

Later,
