The Brady Bill, Akula. It has tightened gun control. Background checks, waiting periods, and gun registration are all present. Yet a man can walk in with no record, buy a gun, then later shoot a bunch of day traders, or open fire on a Jewish youth center and later kill a co-worker, two kids can over a period of time plant bombs and then go off with legally purchased guns and kill classmates and teachers. What of the new decentralized "leaderless" form of terrorism? Espouse words of hatred, someone on the verge will listen and go off, no prior record. Where does the gun control help? Drugs are still easily smuggled into the U.S., if we ban guns who's to say the same won't happen? Quite the contrary, it will. And who will own them? Criminals. Isn't there a way to address the real problem? It isn't the guns, Akula, it's the people, or the message the people are receiving. This is the problem that needs discussed. Any comments, complaints or suggestions? (Hate to sound like one of those flaky restaurant service evaluations there at the end, but oh well.)
