If both latency and bandwidth were better for RAMBUS than for PC100, then all benchmarks would run faster on RAMBUS than on PC100.

They don't, by a long shot.

In fact, take a look at Ace's Hardware and you'll find that even on Stream (a memory benchmark with very large data sets), RAMBUS performance is inferior.

I'm beginning to wonder whether the i820 chipset is adding latencies that Samsung and other RDRAM mfgr's were not expecting.
