Actually, it WAS good going.

Our generation, in case you care, also gave you one of the best economies the world has ever seen, invented computers for your pleasure and education, created the greatest highway system the world has ever known, and did a hell of a lot of other things you still know nothing about.

And all you can do is sit on your butt and whine.

<<All I can say for your generation is that you managed not to destroy all life on Earth in a nuclear holocaust (so far). Good going guys!>>
Once again your sarcasm only demonstrates that you don't think before you post. My generation did not invent the bomb we only had to deal with it.
Yes, we were armed to the teeth but as I recall it was only over our objection that this over kill was developed. None the less in the entire history of the world never before had any people developed a superior weapon and not used it........never!..... That communism collapsed of it's own weight ....or not... is irrelevant. For some fifty years we looked into the teeth of the nuclear nightmare and the trigger was never pulled. Considering the paranoia generated by the communist threat ,no small accomplishment here.
Your generation can smugly laugh off that the nuclear potential was never realized but it is only thanks to us that you have never felt the terror that we did every time the clock struck "ten minutes to midnight"....
The next time you are in your local video store looking for "games" may I suggest a movie? "Dr Strangelove....or how I stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb" . No games... This threat was for real!!
My young friend, the accomplishments of my generation are light years ahead of anything that yours will ever see. We came along when the world needed us most......Is ok.. No need to thank us . We only did what we had to.....<<You've left us with such a great starting point.>>.... Better than the one we inherited I would say....Your turn... Lets see what you can do!
