If you loose focus of what is driving EMC's growth, that is, the increasing need for storage brought about by the growth of the internet and e-commerce applications, etc., then you will have lost sight of why EMC is where it is at today.

The demand for storage is growing at internet speed and will take EMC along with it. They only need to continue to execute. The internet community/economy needs EMC products to grow. The competition isn't there. There's nowhere for EMC to go but up from here.

I'm not sure about your 19.5 bil market share I see it more like 15 bil. The 50 bil market is broken down to 40 bil high end and 10 bil middle & low market. EMC has 35% of estimated 40 bil which is 14 bil. and DG (Clariion) has 10% of estimated 10 bil for 1 bil. Total 15 bil. is this not correct?
