from C Kahn:

Truedog, what I did was print out the post that had the chapter and verses that we're starting with. I suppose you could write down the information on a piece of paper just as well.
Anyhow, I took the information paper and sat down with my Bible, away from the computer, so I wouldn't feel rushed to post a reply. That way, I had time to reflect on the verses as well as the comments.
I'm just trying to make helpful suggestions. I know that you are real busy now.

Colleen

Dear truedog,
We are told in scripture to meditate on the word so that sounds like we should all stop and really think about what we are reading. IMO wars have been caused by people making snap decisions on scripture and then are willing to die for it. From my experience God teaches us deeper and deeper as we persue knowing Him. So if we decided the value of a verse on its own (out of its context) and build a theology that can not be changed then we become unteachable.
If the format works out anyone can answer at anytime as long as the put the text at the beggining of their post. If someone is hostile or disagrees with my post then I pray for the Lord to show me what I may need to learn and then I ignore the post. As long as it is not being used to hurt people.
I meant to write to you last night about your younger son being baptised. Congradulations!!!! What a joy and a blessing from God. I think it is more cause for celebration than their physical birth for that one brought death this birth brings eternal life with the Messiah:-)
May the Lord bless you and keep you may he make his face shine upon you and give you peace,
Nancy
