Don, I respect your opinion regarding marketing and public relations issues, but I am not sure that it is possible to canvas all computer journals, magazines, investment periodicals,... all the time. My beef with the NY Times was that it was a high profile, cover piece with an enormous color graphic on the front page of the technology section. Daniel Auclair had been interviewed for the piece, but SanDisk is mentioned only parenthetically at the end of the story. The editor selected only The Iomega Clik!, The Sony Memory Stick and The IBM microdrive as the representative form factors for portable storage at a time when no or minimal design-ins for these solutions were announced. To leave flash memory (in any form) out of the picture is either by design, an indication of gross incompetence or a complete misunderstanding of the market place.
