Emc Corp (Emc; $70 5/8; B-1-1-9)
Dec99E $1.10; 00E $1.45

o Management provided guidance for the company after the merger with Data General. Revenue growth of 27% next year is slower than EMC's recent 35% rate, but the combined company will grow earnings more quickly.

o Our 2000 EPS estimate is $1.45, up 40% over 1999.

o Our 4Q estimate falls $0.02 to $0.31 on lower operating earnings from Data General, but look for accretion to kick in for the second half of 2000.

o The combined company is bigger, has a broader product line, an expanded market, and less expensive products to offer price-conscious buyers. EMC's strong management team helps mitigate our concerns surrounding the integration
of the two companies.
