OMAHA, Neb., Nov 2, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Sprint PCS Customers Can Access Their Ameritrade Accounts, Place
Trades, Receive Stock Alerts 24/7 Via the Wireless Web

Leapfrogging the competition, Ameritrade, Inc., one of the leading
online brokerages and a subsidiary of Ameritrade Holding Corporation
(Nasdaq: AMTD), on Monday became the first brokerage to enable
investors to have anytime, anywhere access capabilities to its Web site
online via wireless telephone. Ameritrade customers can now access
their accounts, place trades and receive stock alerts via the Internet
using The Sprint PCS (NYSE: PCS) Wireless Web and a new generation of
digital phones, called WAP (wireless access protocol) technology, which
can be used to browse the Internet, as well as manage personal
calendars and phone lists.

"We are setting yet another standard in online investing," said Thomas
K. Lewis, Jr., co-chief executive officer of Ameritrade Holding
Corporation. "Ameritrade is the first brokerage to enable investors to
have anytime, anywhere access to its Web site from wireless telephones.
This service is real and now and indicative of the bold moves we will
be making over the coming weeks and months to ensure that our customers
have the very best products and services available as they gather
information and act on their investment decisions 24 hours a day, seven
days a week," Lewis noted.

The wireless Internet service comes less than a month after Ameritrade
announced that it was working with Sprint PCS, the nation's largest
all-digital, all-PCS nationwide wireless network, to provide Wireless
Web access, which is another step in Ameritrade's continuing effort to
extend the ability of its customers to invest when and how they choose.

Sprint PCS customers who have an Internet-ready Sprint PCS Phone will
be able to access their Ameritrade account at no extra charge as part
of any Sprint PCS Wireless Web Service Plan -- starting at less than
$10 a month when added to an existing voice plan of $29.99 and higher.
Once an Ameritrade account is accessed via a Sprint PCS Phone, all
Ameritrade fees apply in the same manner as if a customer had accessed
Ameritrade from a desktop computer for standard online brokerage
services -- $8 per equity market order.
