Yes, that caught my eye too. Fortunately, I had my filters*** set in place already. I've got to tell you, Paper Chase, this is the 'net and all things are possible. Call it superdimensional transcendance, or whatever. I can show you releases by three different fiber baron companies each boasting first rights to coast-to-coast IP over OC-48 delivery, complete with ribbon cuttings. In the meantime, the highest port capabilities during those times last year for any type of 'net related traffic had barely exceeded OC-3c, and just getting bootstrapped at OC-12c, and that was for ATM signaling over which IP was mapable. Most of the so-called terabit routers today still can't fully handle concatenated 48's for commercial Internet purposes yet, not even at the ATM level, save for point to point solutions. IP? How fast can your router do a look up in software, execute policy decisions, administer route peering decisions, and track individual users' flows for utilization and billing? Go figure. As for LVLT's quarter billion commitment to softswitch, that one is still a mystery to me, understanding where all that money could be spent. Is GBLX the first in this space? If you want to believe that, there's nothing stopping you, and if GBLX wants to promote that idea, then I suppose there is nothing stopping them, too. Perhaps there was an asterisk somewhere that we missed. Perhaps the arguable qualifier was "carrier class," instead of an asterisk, which is an old trick, too, borrowing from numerous subjective assessments. As for the claims of being the first to create a VoIP network, the list is long and boring, going back two or three years, already. *** Sometimes you've just got to set your filters to 'ignore.'
