The IBM announcement doesn't look like much more than a marketing deal to me. In a less frenzied market, I doubt it would have had any impact.

This is not the deal I was hearing about.

I'm content with my stake in the company, but the stock (and the stocks of many other tech companies) makes me nervous.

Stocks can't "out appreciate" their intrinsic growth rates forever.

This doesn't mean that IBM is buying Siebel for their own use, but I hear that deal is in the works. That should be a huge deal when it hits, perhaps Siebel's biggest, and hopefully it will close in '99, though I'm sure it will be recognized over several quarters.
