DownSouth & ALL:

Gartner Group/Dataquest has the following projected growth rates for NAS and SAN according to a report from Procom Technology:

SAN Growth: From $370 Million in 1998 to $1.7 Billion in 2002.

NAS Growth: From $900 Million in 1998 to $10 Billion in 2003.

My apologies for the difference in dates (2003 vs. 2002). It's all I could find.

1) Do these projections make sense to you? I'm surprised at the difference in NAS and SAN. We are in agreement from our previous conversations that NAS is a better investment candidate due to its growth rate and potential.

2) Why is there such difference in the numbers from Dataquest and IDC? IDC put out a forecast in June of $5.1 Billion for NAS in 2003.

Best,

Duncan
