John, For deepwater plays for XON/MOB, there will be Angola, Nigeria, Equitorial Guinea, Sao Tome, Indonesia, NW Australia, and of course the GOM.

MOB/XON is just getting into deepwater Brazil....

Onshore XON/MOB are very active in major projects in central Asia in Khazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan. Also XON/MOB are hoping to parlay Mssr. Noto's excellent relationship with Saudi Leadership into a long-term E&P relationship of choice between Saudi Arabia and XON/MOB...

And also heavy oil in Venezuela as MOB and XON own two major concessions side-by-side.

Don't forget major shallow water plays too like Vietnam, Newfoundland (Hibernia), and Qatar.....

Thanks, Doug. You know a lot more about XON/MOB exploration plans than I do and I'am sure they also have big onshore/shallow projects. It just seems to me that they are moving rather slowly on deepwater projects. They may like West Africa but I can't find any currently active projects there from XON/MOB....which is another question...if W Africa is so promising why has the rig count been cut in half and so many deepwater rigs stacked? Do you expect to see a pickup in deepwater exploration activity when the merger is consummated and 2000 capex budgets become available?

TIA,
John
