I care about the problem...but not as much as the solution. I agree with those who say that a company is not going to wash the dirty laundry if it does not have to do so. Intel is not "required" to ship a chipset. It can do so when and if it wants. It made a choice not to. I hope it will soon make a decision to do so. I can sell their stock if I don't like their decision. I can sue them if I feel they misrepresented some issue that I relied on to my detriment. They will not stand up and say "We screwed up." Won't happen. The "real story" will come out over time, but by then everyone will have moved on.

It doesn't mean we don't care. It is history, not the future. I am more worried about the future.

jmac, in all due respect. You are asking the same questions over and over and over. Everyone has expressed their opinion as best the can. There is absolutely nothing else anybody can do for you. Nobody has any more answers, nor can we find anymore. If you like I will appoint you to find the answers to your questions from Intel and Rambus and come back with your findings. To continue to ask us will serve no purpose.

Re: people on this thread that really don't care what the problem has been...

There is a strategy that is followed by many on the thread that is based upon the notion that if Intel backs a technology, it cannot fail. So to these investors, the technical issues are irrelevant as long as Intel keeps claiming it will continue to support rambus.

It's not necessarily a bad strategy, just not one that I (or, evidently you) could ever be comfortable with.

Regards,

Dan

Hi jmac; Re the nonchalance regarding the problem. This has been a long bull market. So stocks are only risky if you care about when you are going to get your profits. It's just a matter of timing. Almost all stocks eventually go to $100 per share, split, and repeat. The only question is when it happens, and how often.

If people have sufficient patience, they will surely be rewarded in the end.
