The DOW went up from 8300 to 10700 which is 29% gain
according to my calculator. I did better!

Yes, AMZN and AOL did much better but so were many other
stocks in the pre 1929 crash so what's your point?

Alohal, anyone can tell me what the best investment was after the fact. If I had gone long SCF (now XLA) at 1 earlier this year and held through today, I would have made 6200%. Now, where did I put that copy of next years Wall Street Journal?

If you bought the 15 largest cap and most actively traded Nasdaq regardless of sector, you'd be up 14-fold but have traded sideways to slightly down since this January.
