I'll stand corrected if I referred to "market makers" instead of "brokerages" which employ "analysts". It seems that many analysts in last 3 wks were wrong about Intel and many individuals sold the stock. The analysts provide us with the information to cause volatility to buy on dips. Other than that it seems that too many analysts are wrong.
My opinion, and I am not in the financial services industry so I would appreciate yours.

GV- Re "That I'll buy, to a certain extent. It goes on a lot on the long end, but almost never on the short
end. An affiliated money manager may sell off a little of a long position, though."

GV- I still believe that their "analysts" make bad comments, impact stock prices, cause investors to sell, and three weeks later they upgrade the stock after it has moved up 10.00 per share. Some analysts don't know Intel, don't know the "big picture", and it is actually a joke that all of their comments are based on "not meeting earnings." They create volatility and opportunity to buy on dips, but other than that, what is your opinion of some of their advice ?
