This has been no different than other other market selloff and recovery. Small caps are almost always the first to selloff and the last to recover.

While both the DOW and Nasdaq are both above their 50 and 200 dma's the Russel 2000 is below both. So weakness in small cap E&P's is really just a reflection of the overall market.

Best time of year for small caps has traditionally been Mid Nov thru the end of January.

TMR and MEXP got hit today? Oh well, at least they closed up.

Yahoo research on RRC shows forward looking earnings have been significantly lowered recently. Not a good sign given the current pricing environment.

Yahoo TMR thread came alive recently with what appear to be competent oilmen talking about the wells being completed. Haven't seen this level of technical expertise on any other threads. Most unusual...

Many of the folks on the Yahoo MEXP thread have taken to openly flaming one of the SI posters (posting there). Can't say that I blame them.
