ANS: "HIGH-TECH SUPERPOWER" according to the USA.

Yeah, right! As if having clean roads, bus stations, railway stations, airports and clean air and drinking water is too "low-tech" for you guys, eh????

In any case, the US would say anything as long as you open up the insurance sector, and the resultant millions of dollars in insurance business. Be glad if the legislation passes because the saffron/khakhi goons got too worked up about the pope's visit and didn't bother to notice this!

USA is going to India not for much profits in selling products because value conscious Indians will not pay exorbitant prices for American goods. Most multinationals are losing. The Economist carried an article that the middle-class Indians' market for Western goods is a myth, because their disposable income is hardly anything. Dipy, you must be slavering to find in me a friend bashing the economic strength of middle-class Indians vis-a-vis what multinationals want to sell and remain profitable. Besides, India has strict labor laws and Capitalists cannot easily exploit the Indian labor; and so they went to the Communist China since dictators would not allow labor unrest.

Then, why are Americans running after "poor" Indians?? Have you thought about it?

Indians will sell their intelligence to the West which is in abundant supply in India and is so scarce in the rest of the world. You know what this means: big bucks for India. Why do the Americans want to pay big bucks to "poor" Indians? Americans have figured out that without the pool of Indian Intelligence, the USA cannot remain ahead in the economic war of nations, and hence they badly want "strategic partnership," with India after 50 years (yes, only after the British left India), on India's own terms!!
