Last Oct 8 was when I first bought AOL and when I bought Dell big time, adding to a position. I bot and sold in and out of AOL, took only one loss in a panic drop, am still way ahead. I wish I had bot and held.
Dell is another story. I had a 25K profit from OCt 98 to Feb 99, just before earnings, but failed to sell. Dell had a reve3nue short fall and has never been the same since. The 25K profit evaporated.
I still hold EMC which I entered in late NOV. last year.
I sold SUNW, a smaller holding, unfortunately. Is the game overin SUNW now that itis in the 100s?

Dear Sonki: jdn, good trade over your vacation... now u can afford another vacation.
Yes, the paper profit on that one buy paid for my whole vacation. Wish I could say it was my great analytical skills but it was just DUMB LUCK. The ONE time I had access to a telephone was the day SUNW tanked and I bought immediately. I understand it actually went as low as 88 that day but 89 was close enough for me.
Dont know what you mean about Rotate, but I see NO SLOWUP in the internet and communication expansions and I intend to keep riding these horses. The box makers is another thing and I am not so enthused about any of them. When I speak of internet by the way, I am speaking of the supporting infrastructure not the internet companies themselves. Other than AOL I dont know which ones will be the ultimate survivors (gorillas) and I am not smart enough to figure it out. I will stick to the pick and shovel types. JDN

Sonki, Don't Rotate!

You and I have the same portfolio of stocks. AOL is just starting to heat up. An open access alliance (IMHO, soon to be announced) will make it explode. I like SUNW right now as a hedge on the outcome of the MSFT antitrust trial. If MSFT take a hit on the trial, SUNW will move.

Best,
