I once had a salesman on my staff who was reluctant to push his sales higher because success would have increased his income and put him into a higher tax bracket. (Turned out, he was reading too many newspaper columns written by "investment advisors", and thus feared the Feds more than increasing his disposable income. He quickly came to understand that the company was interested in increasing sales even if he was not.)

"Reduce your Tax" plans fall into the same wrong-headed category in most cases.
