Yes I know Rambus is profitable now. The point of my analogy is that both Iridium and Rambus are technologies that many people wanted to see succeed, but at least Iridium did NOT succeed due to market forces. My fear (which doesn't matter now anyway since I sold all my Rambus and bought Cisco with the proceeds) is that Rambus will be eschewed by the Dramurai and eventually by the box makers as other technologies effectively compete with Rambus based on price (read lack of royalties).

Here's one investor who lost confidence in Rambus due to Intel's bungling. Time to market is key for any product. The true question here has Intel irrevocable screwed this deal up, or are the others so far behind that Rambus will succeed anyway. I hope Rambus does succeed because I want a PC with Rambus damnit.
