FVCX - report on visit to Santa Clara office. I had spoken on the phone to fvc about a week prior to being in Calif. I was asked to check with inv relations, though that person was not there. Then, I called in the morning of my visit with inv relations not there, so left a voice mail saying I was in town, mentioned being on SI, and that b/c I had to make a decision at that point on driving direction , that I would come over later in the morning. I show up before noon. Person cannot meet with me, not even a stinking 5 min. Sat there for 45 min, reading - heck, I can wait, and was greeted by another fvc e'ee. Mentioned wanted to ask questions about markets, competitors, make suggestions, etc. and response was "all info is in our press releases". Specifically mentioned, not looking at proprietary info, rather to understand a few items, especially wanting answers to some suggestions. Got the brush off with an 888# to listen to the conf call. Those fvc e'ee's know who they are and I am, to say the least, disappointed, discontent, disheartened, and cannot recall another company so unreceptive as to perceive it to be a displeasure from the company's viewpoint to meet with someone interested in their company. The facts are: (1) not all the info about the company is in its press releases (2) market, competitor info is not in PRs (3) no suggestions made, no answers to those suggestions, etc. If I have misstated anything, I will make an apology, but imo the situation could have been handled much better from your side. There are only a few items of saving grace for my impression of fvc: 1) the 30 min phone conversation with a technical person before trekking to Calif - I believe I was holding my own on video networking technology, calling on research done in the networking, communications, chip sectors, etc. 2) the market is there 3) news articles -- these provided some info on areas of questions and lead to further questions in my mind, and some thought provoking ideas Thoroughly dissatisfied with the reception, and net unanswered questions as a result of the visit.
