Ron, I think all the attention given to extended trading hours is just a way to fill up airtime and newspapers. As someone who has day traded full time for the last 2+ years, I can attest to the lack of liquidity in pre- and post-market trading.

So what, the average Joe will be able to buy and sell stocks early and late. Unless there are plenty of other sellers and buyers he isn't going to be able to complete a trade at a decent price. For example, if someone wanted to buy SNDK at 60 1/2 at 4:05 this afternoon but no one was there to sell it to him. he's out of luck. It is all a lot of noise about nothing.
