Paul - RE: Dell offers THREE Different OptiPLEX PCs with 733 MHz Coppermines - which can be seen just by clicking on:"

It costs $333 to upgrade from the PIII 500 to the 533BE and $983 to upgrade from the PIII 500 to PIII 733.

Do you have any idea why it costs so much more to up grade to the newer processors? Maybe Dell wants more profit from the higher MHz systems, but the $983 difference is more than the cost of the PIII 733 in bulk, according to Intel!

And the cost difference isn't associated to the i840 chipset and DRDRAM because you can only configure SDRAM with the systems and you CAN'T choose a video card so I assume the chipset is i810E.

Am I completely overlooking anything?

BTW, did you get my PM yesterday?
