PB,

<Competitve, yes. I have also been saying Coppermine would be "competitive" with K7 for the past several months. I think that's a fair assessment at the moment. I have no reason to believe that going forward, Intel will not continue to be competitive.>

IMHO, You saying competitive is one thing and Paul O saying it is competitive is another. Management typically does not use that term. Usually management resorts to some kind of perverted "leadership" statement. That was the point I was trying to make.

As far as CuMine being competitive: Like I said a day or two back, I was surprised by CuMine's performance. Intel has put forth a stronger fight than I gave it credit for. That said, I continue to believe that it is too little, too late. In Q1, when the real battle begins, AMD will have a better processor with better platform (ignoring any MHz advantage).

<Let's see, 100's of thousands of units since June vs. 100's of thousands of units in four days of officialdom. I know which curve I like :-).>

Like I said to Paul on this topic, saying Athlon launch is worse that CuMine launch is like a pissing contest. Both sucked and I don't see much of a reason to feel good about either.

Chuck

You may like the curve and smile about it, I say it is a fake smile.

Intel's launches the Coppermine and they are very hard to find days after the stealth launch.

THERE IS NO VOLUME IN THE CHANNEL. Coppermine so far is a huge flop. Intel really pulled an "AMD" by launching something that was not ready.
