Ray, maybe you need a couple of Bay Watch lifeguards up there in the snow to show you how to operate those wireless thingies. Here's another clip from my buddies over in Compuserve Telecomms who are hot on the trail of situation placements on TV movies which feature telecommunications equipment. This was actually the first of several posts there on the subject, and apparently they will be tracking it every week. Retirement must be wonderful. Baywatch Hawaii! : --------- Last week's episode of "Baywatch Hawaii", a spin-off of the LA-based series, included a surprisingly blatant promotion for Nextel. The premise of the series is that the world's best (or at least best-looking) lifeguards have come together in Hawaii to create a surf-rescue training center. When one of the female lifeguards welcomed a newly-arrived colleague, she handed her a Nextel phone, which she mentioned by brand name. She explained that they all use Nextel to keep in touch with each other, and then demonstrated the "Direct Connect" feature. All in all, a very effective sales promotion. If they really do make a phone which puts me in touch with beautiful women in swimsuits at the touch of a button, I'm buying! ----------- See, Ray? That's all you needed, a direct connect button. And never mind what Albert said at the end, there. He usually goes into those digressions, transgressions <?>, when he can't find anymore ancient microwave photo sites on the web.
