What a good idea! It is doubtful that you will be running a marathon (or wanting to move about too much) when you get back. Besides, a mother's love (and care) speeds any recovery.

That sounds good. Moral support if nothing else.

My friend Mike had several discs removed and his back fused. They lag bolted a steel brace to his spine so it was a pretty big deal. He was home and going out to breakfast in 3 days.
