to: CC from: truedog CC--Sarcasm does not become you. Or anyone else, for that matter. The first natives to greet priests were los indios de Mexico,and ensuing Spanish held territory. The Native Americans of North America were mostly spared the intrusion of the priests. Some of the Canadian North American natives were contacted by an order of monks but the penalty for non-conversion was not as painful as that for the Indians subjected to Spanish priests, fresh from the Inquisition. They were of a particularly viscious nature. In case you were trying to anger me by being critical of priests, you struck out. I do not like what the priests of the Catholic church did to the natives in the name of Jesus. Just another example of them considering themselves to be above all others. TD
